Plagiarism
Sooonar takes plagiarism seriously. Provenance is the platform’s core promise.
What counts as plagiarism
Uploading work that is a direct copy of another designer’s published piece — whether on Sooonar, Instagram, or a print catalogue — and passing it off as your own. Inspiration and homage are not plagiarism; copying is.
How to report it
From any piece page, click the ‘Report’ link in the aside. Provide a link to the original piece and a one-paragraph description of the overlap. We review every report within 2 working days.
How we investigate
Editors check timestamps via the provenance hash on file, compare images side-by-side, and if needed reach out to both designers for context. The earlier-published piece prevails. If both were uploaded simultaneously and neither has prior public record, we side with the one with stronger documented process (sketches, in-progress shots).
Consequences
First offence: piece removed, written warning, the rights-holder is published as the original on the verify page. Second offence: account suspended for 6 months. Third: permanent ban from Sooonar.
If you’ve been wrongly accused
Email editor@wesooonar.com with your side. We’ll re-review and publish a correction if we got it wrong.
